Smart Mobility Segment

In response to national calls for energy conservation, environmental protection, and green transportation, and actively practicing the development philosophy that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," CF Energy has ventured into the new energy electric vehicle battery swapping industry. This move is aimed at laying a solid foundation for green transportation and accelerating the achievement of China’s "dual carbon" goals.

New Energy Battery Swapping

CF Energy's new energy vehicle battery swapping project has successfully established operations in several locations including Sanya in Hainan, Liupanshui in Guizhou, and Beihai in Guangxi. The swapping stations integrate scalable, extendable, and iteratively intelligent management and operation technologies, maximizing the data-driven capabilities, safety, and full lifecycle value of the products. Once operational, the stations provide approximately 70,000 kilometers of swapped driving range and about 15,800 kilowatt-hours of electricity daily. Using the carbon emission factors for mid-sized gasoline vehicles (0.16522 kg/km) and electricity (0.5942 kg/kWh), it is estimated that these stations reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 2.1 tons daily. The incorporation of photovoltaic storage equipment in the operations will further decrease carbon emissions significantly.

Promoting the battery swapping model on a large scale can enhance the efficiency of urban land use (reducing the area needed by 70% compared to equivalent centralized charging stations, with a 20-battery swapping station covering about 70 square meters, equivalent to 20 charging parking spaces) and electrical resource utilization (reducing the need for additional power grid capacity by over 40% for servicing the same number of vehicles).

Once the mobile energy service network is established, it can provide about 5MW of responsive power to assist in regulating urban distribution grid loads. As the electricity market matures, swapping stations can further engage in bidirectional charging and discharging to operate as "virtual power plants," contributing to the construction of an energy internet, promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the new energy industry, and supporting the implementation of the "dual carbon" targets.

Photovoltaic + Battery Swapping + Energy Storage

CF Energy is also actively exploring the integration of photovoltaic energy storage facilities of a considerable scale at battery swapping stations, enabling them to absorb new energy, manage integrated energy, and flexibly control loads, thereby achieving integrated development of charging networks and the power grid. The combination of photovoltaics, battery swapping, and energy storage offers a more convenient, economical, and safer new energy solution, facilitating the consumption of new energy generation, enhancing the stability of low-carbon power grids, and achieving comprehensive energy utilization goals.

Currently, the CF Energy Fenghuang Road Stepwise Energy Storage project has entered a stable operational phase, effectively serving the CF Energy Fenghuang Road passenger vehicle battery swapping station. Moving forward, CF Energy will continue to promote the establishment of a safe operational system integrating photovoltaic storage and the application and implementation of photovoltaic energy storage equipment.
